Job Summary:
Hiring for Fall 2024/2025 Semester!
Provide overall assistance to the Campus Store Manager including assisting customers, operating cash register, stock and straighten shelves and unpacking new merchandise received.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet customers entering Campus Store
- Answer customers’ questions and provide information on procedures or policies
- Ring up sales and bag or box merchandise
- Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers or automatic debits
- Ensure that each customer receives their receipt and is informed of the store return policy
- Compute and record totals of transactions
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
- Count money in cash drawer at the beginning of shift to ensure that amounts are correct
- Establish or identify prices of goods using calculators, cash registers or optical price scanners
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas
- Stock shelves and mark prices on shelves and items as assigned
- Maintain and update website
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 35 pounds
- Able to handle money and make correct change
- Flexibility with schedule to work assigned hours during regular store hours of Monday – Friday 10am – 3pm
- A few times during the year, students may be asked to work on Saturday to help with special events on campus
Job Expectations:
- Must be neat, courteous and trustworthy
- Good customer service skills are a must
- Be on time for scheduled shift
- Preferred skills: cash register experience and general clerking experience
