Intern Job Title: Marketing Internship
Internship Supervisor Name and Title: Erin Hollister, Director of Enrollment Marketing
Position Purpose: To connect academic marketing preparation with professional practice through hands-on experience supporting Bethel University Enrollment Marketing campaigns, communications, and recruitment initiatives while developing practical marketing skills, professional confidence, and portfolio experience.
Job Description and Learning Objectives:
This internship provides supervised professional marketing experience across multiple areas of Enrollment Marketing. The intern will contribute to active projects involving real audiences, deadlines, campaign goals and organizational priorities while gaining exposure to campaign planning, content development, audience research, digital marketing, analytics and project coordination.
The internship should help the student strengthen strategic thinking, communication, research, project management and marketing execution skills in a professional environment. Whenever appropriate, completed work should be suitable for inclusion in the student’s professional portfolio or developed into a case study. The intern will receive regular guidance and formative feedback throughout the semester.
Job Expectations:
- Support Enrollment Marketing campaigns and recruitment initiatives
- Assist with campaign planning, implementation and evaluation
- Conduct audience, competitor and market research
- Support admissions event marketing and promotion
- Assist with writing, editing and proofreading marketing content
- Support email marketing projects
- Assist with website and SEO projects as appropriate
- Contribute to social media campaigns and content planning as appropriate
- Assist with digital advertising projects and campaign research
- Help develop creative briefs and organize project information
- Track project timelines, deliverables and next steps
- Assist with basic marketing analytics and reporting
- Research marketing trends, platforms and prospective-student behavior
- Participate in relevant project meetings, planning discussions and campaign reviews
- Take ownership of at least one substantial marketing project or defined area of responsibility during the semester
- Maintain an accurate time log and communicate schedule changes or project delays promptly
- Develop portfolio materials or a professional case study from internship work when appropriate

Job Knowledge / Skills Required:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic understanding of marketing, communications or related concepts

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to conduct research and summarize findings
- Comfort learning new marketing platforms and systems
- Experience with social media, analytics, digital marketing, design, web content or related areas is helpful but not required
Specifics:
- Paid internship, Fall 2026
- Up to 9 hours per week
- Total semester hours established according to the student’s academic internship requirements
- Regular weekly schedule established around class availability and departmental needs

- At least one hour of recurring weekly overlap with other interns or student workers will be prioritized when schedules allow
- Participate in recurring Enrollment Marketing intern and student worker team meetings
Internship Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Provide structured training, supervision and meaningful professional marketing work
- Provide regular formative feedback
- Include the intern in relevant meetings and planning
- Provide workspace and appropriate tools
- Review and verify time logs
- Participate in faculty communication if required
- Complete required academic evaluations
- Provide opportunities for portfolio-quality work and professional development
